We were homeless.

We are very blessed to get to live in paris.  we are not so blessed, however, with all our apartment issues.  Earlier this week, our toilet was in our living room.  there was a leak which turned into some huge project... i don't even know.  but now the mouse trap that was behind is now gone.... so ratty is probably running free.  any way, every couple days or so maddie and i woke up with little bites--they were not spider, they were like hard, and symmetrical sides of our arms...  "what these be?"  we asked our housing director and did some research.  we concluded that they were bed bugs.  this just would not do.  our housing lady said they don't harm you, but this National Geo video begs to differ (click if you dare.)

Needless to say, we told her to book the next available SMASH exterminator appointment.  so they came round yesterday to fumigate.  plus side: no more bugs.  negative: we couldn't be in our apartment for 24 hours. we out on the street.  antoine, our kind friend, opened his doors to us, but we had to traipse around the city for a day with our over night goods (click for the beginning of day).
We went to les invalides again for class.  apparently there's a lot of history there. but there isn't much to touch.  i enjoy old architecture, but i also value museums that allow you activities, such as jarring fake pigs feet in a faux factory (minnesota history museum, anyone?).
After class, we went to the garden just outside.  i've been getting sick, therefore wanted to die and/or sleep.  with nowhere to turn, i ended up on a bench.  We soon realized that being homeless actually made us spend more money.  it was really chilly, and we still have 4 hours until emoseed got out of class, so we got nachos and saw a movie (a french one, too!  serpahine. no subtitles or anything.)
After that we went over to antoine's house and made dinner (click for youtubage).  his bed is much comfier than ours... what vermon can we infest our apartment with next, so it is constantly being sprayed with toxic chemicals?

That bedbugs thing is gross. Way to be assertive and getting the exterminator out there. Do you guys get new mattresses? Is all of your stuff covered in chemicals now?
