Round yond virgin, mother and chiiildd

...at least, i think that's how the song goes. any way... we did lots today! it started with the luxembourg gardens. it was all flowered-out, despite the chilliness, and quite beautiful. there was an old man and this little boy playing with a sailboat and a stick in the fountain. how cute. my mom saw lots of fountains today, because i am writing a research project on them, and needed to take pics. ohhhhh.... and they are historic/ pretty/etcetera.

Next, we promenaded over to the church saint sulpice. mary just said it seems so long ago since we went there... we did lots. it was huge and beatuiful, with muted-grayish paintings, and a line on the ground that the sun shines on so you know when easter is. its a good idea. personally, i always relied on when a fruitful basket of candies and olsen twin movies appeared in the dining room, but the sun works too. took pics of a fountain.

we got some omelettes, then we went to saint michel and took pics of this other cool fountain and walked around the latin quarter, and got crepes. the chick was learning how to make them... my mom said "good thing you didn't film her for the blog." ouch....

then we went to notre dame. there were more people than gargoyles, if you can believe it.

we went to saint chappelle church after that. BEAutiful. its two floors, patterned ceilings, gold accents, and intricate colorful stained glass that told the story of the bible, from the beginning to the apocolypse..... i was scared at some parts, like when jesus got hurt and the animals had to deal with the flood and the apocolypse... but at least it was pretty.

next we saw hotel de ville, the pompidou, and i tried to show her my school but the doors were locked.... hopefully they will be on monday as well. we saw several other fountains, like chatelet, stravinsky, and fountain des innocent, and walked through a park.

ohhh maaan, twas a long day, so we could sure use of glass of wine. oh wait! good thing we went to a wine expo. it was...intense. we pretended to know things, like smell it and swirl it around. we drank red ones and white ones and pink ones, oh my!

then it was nachos, and a movie about a french guy who goes to the US to meet real americans. so perfect the night.

here's some pics:

At the Jardins du Luxembourg today.

We saw some people doin tai chi.
i lost my mom and got scared. this woman wasn't very comforting.

Coming soon to a theatre near you... well, actually i don't know if it is. but if so, it's worth a watch.

Tomorrow we're off to Versailles!

Mary's favorite thing she saw today: the Eiffel Tower. she said it was a lot bigger than she expected--just immense. (she TOATZ loved it).

I'm really happy to have her here. I got a little teary eyed when i saw her on my street. oh, how nice it is when my worlds collide.

Tonight, me mad and mary are getting italian food at our favorite place down the street. do as the locals do, no?

Hey All.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you aswell! Hope it was da bomb. My parents called me yesterday morning..my dad sounding extra sad told me that he wished I was home because his two sons are home and his misses his daughter. Cute. Gobble-dee-gook

HAAAPPPYYY SPANSKGIVING!!!!
We ate one of those today. Did you?

Although we were sad to not be with our families on this fine, fine holiday, we went over to our friends' apartment for dinner. and i mean like, THANKSGIVING DINNER. it was soooo good. noah and lauren slaved all day over the stove making deeelish authentic thanksgiving turk, stuffing gravy, yams.... teh works. and we bought a cake, hahaha. it was lots of fun, and we were so glad to celebrate with our fellow american buddies.

earlier today, we beared to cold to go to La Defense with our architecture class. La D is a modern citay just outside of paris. its super cool, if you look one way, you see the arc de triomphe at paris, then turn 180 degrees, and you see the reflexing modern version of the arc at la defense! sweet. it was weird to be surround by skyscrapers... i had forgotten what that was like...
lovely fountain. i would have jumped in if it were not like 1 degree celcius and/or fahrenheit outside.
we did, however, see a cute dog, like a security doggy, dip his lil paws in the water and take a drink. haha, dogs. how they make me smile.
these trees are planted in concrete. whoooaaa
weird tower.
yet another jumping pic. you guys seriously have no idea how many we take.... and how many pics we have of us like trying to capture an airborn moment, but it doesnt really work... she looks like she's levatating. like a cooool girrrl. like a mac book girrrl.
l'arc. there are offices inside. when i'z becum a big corporate boss, ima git an office in there, yes i will.
us trying to sneakily take a pic of maddie with our architecture teacher. she is so passionate. its so cute :) x0x0 like omg
embarrassing myself probably
taking in the view.

oh! and my mom will be here in a matter of hours!!! yay!! ratatouille said he is nervous to meet her because she doesn't like rodents, especially after she saw a dead rat the size of a pig in the freezer at charlie's pizza when she was 16, but i told him that if he made her breakfast like he does so well, she would give him a chance.

Ok, signing off. Happy thanksgiving! i am thankful to be here, but also that i have so much to look forward to at home.

I saw an exhibit on Sonia Rykiel who is my new obsession! Holla. She is one of the worlds most elegant woman and proved that knitwear can follow any trend. She was the first designer to put words on clothing and the seams outside of the garment. Her clothing is really amazing. I suggest everyone go to SoniaRykiel.com right now!!!!!!!!
